Since 1958, the Ottawa Children's Choir, a not-for-profit, charitable organization, has been enabling our children to sing wonderful music, giving them musical skills for life. To ensure the OCC remains part of Ottawa's rich cultural community, we rely upon the financial support of many generous people and organisations, including choir members, their families, lovers of music, corporations and foundations. If you could help us today, your support will support our vision by providing enrichment to children, their families and the community through singing.
There are a number of ways that you can help the OCC to achieve its mission. You can donate online through CanadaHelps.
The OCC is a small organization that relies on volunteers and community involvement to achieve it's mission. Offering unrescricted donations allows us to prioritize needs on an ongoing basis and ensure that we are able to adapt to the evolving needs of the Choir.
The Ottawa Children’s Choir welcomes donations to our music library. Sponsors can pay for a piece of music that is needed by our choristers. A new repertoire can cost as little as $75 for a piece for one of our choirs or up to $1,000 for sets of music books containing a number of titles. Find out more
As a touring choir, the Chamber Choir represents the OCC both nationally and internationally. Recent trips have included a 2015 visit to Iqaluit, Nunavut and participation in the 2017 Vimy commemorative ceremonies. 2020 will see the Choir sharing their joy of signing at numerous venues in Italy. Travel is largely covered by choristers themselves, but donations can make this more affordable and ensure that all Chamber Choir members can represent the OCC at these inspiring and important events.
The OCC is committed to increasing the diversity of its choristers and ensuring that children can participate irrespective of their household financial circumstances. Our financial assistance fund provides support to those families who find it difficult to pay choir fees.
The OCC offers scholarships to talented and committed choristers who model the values of the OCC through consistently expressing their vocal talent, helpfulness and the joy of singing. Sponsoring a scholarship contributes to the OCC's pursuit of excellence and recognizes the talent and commitment our amazing and diverse choristers.
