We’re looking for a General Manager to join our team and ensure that our organization runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal and administrative skills and be keen, well-organized and adaptable.
The Ottawa Children's Choir (OCC), a not-for-profit charitable organization, exists to enrich artistically the lives of our choristers, families and the community. We offer an instructional music program emphasizing musicianship and vocal training through choral music experience.
We are five ensembles:
Ottawa Children's Choir Concert and Chamber choirs will be performing as part of the Sing Ottawa en choeur Festival which is a choral celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary in our Nation’s Capital. Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25, 2017, Sing Ottawa en chœur (SOec) will present five concerts and two discussion panels exploring Canadian music and the music that represents the cultures of people who call Canada their home. We invite everyone to come hear the two OCC choirs sing at the Music From Across Canada concert and encourage you to check out the other concerts and panel discussions that are taking place during the festival.
The Ottawa Children’s Choir has vacancies for Board Members for the period 2017-2018.
The OCC Board is a working board comprising 6 parent representatives and 7 community representatives. We have openings for parent and community representatives from July 2017 (renewable). Directors on the OCC Board are typically elected for a two-year term.
The Ottawa Children's Choir is pleased to announce that Jennifer Berntson has accepted the position of Conductor for our new Training Choir for 6- and 7-year-old children. Jennifer is a passionate choral artist and music educator. Inspired by a childhood spent singing with the Saskatoon Children’s Choir, she has performed with ensembles across Canada, including the National Youth Choir. Jennifer is the founding artistic director of Aella Choir, an ensemble intent on sharing innovative programming and compelling repertoire for women’s voices. She currently works at First Baptist Church as the soprano soloist and conductor of the First Baptist Children’s Choir. Jennifer enjoys sharing her love of music through her voice and piano studios, working with students of all ages and levels.
Children who love to sing are invited to audition for Ottawa's pre-eminent children's choir.
The Ottawa Children's Choir will be holding General Auditions for the upcoming 2017 – 2018 choral year on Saturday, May 27, Saturday, June 10, and Saturday, June 17, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All children between the ages of 8 and 15 who love to sing are welcome to audition! Auditions are held at the home of the Ottawa Children’s Choir, St. Joseph's Parish and Sanctuary, a hub for choral excellence in Ottawa http://www.st-josephs.ca/.

The Ottawa Children’s Choir invites you to participate in this sweet springtime fundraiser featuring PURE MAPLE SYRUP produced by the grandparents of one of our own alumnae families, the Brochus. This award-winning, certified-organic syrup is produced in the Tyendinaga Township just north of Napanee, Ontario, and is being provided at cost, with all proceeds benefitting Ottawa Children's Choir.
