Tickets are now on sale for the 2019 Christmas Concert. Join all five OCC choirs as they come together to share their voices with the community. The concert will include old favorites, some classical carols and a lot of fun. Make sure to warm up your own voice as there may be opportunities to sing along! This is an annual concert held in the St. Joseph's Parish. Tickets can be purchased through our ticket page at this link.
The Ottawa Children's Choir is pleased to announce that we will be conducting General Auditions for vocal placement for the 2019 – 2020 choral year on
- Saturday, April 27th, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Monday, May 6th, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, May 11, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- Saturday, May 25, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
All children between the ages of 8 and 15 who love to sing are invited to register for an audition for our Viva, Concert or Chamber choirs! All auditions are held at the welcoming home of the Ottawa Children’s Choir, St. Joseph's Parish, a hub for choral excellence in Ottawa. Online registration for Prima Choir and Boys' Choir is ongoing.
We are seeking energetic individuals from Choir parents and the larger Ottawa community to fill vacancies on our Board of Directors for the upcoming 2019-2020 Choir year.
The Board of Directors manages the affairs of the Ottawa Children’s Choir, planning strategies and developing policies, programs and activities to achieve its mission and its mandate to enrich artistically the lives of our choristers, their families and the community.
The Nominating Committee reviews the structure, composition and balance of skills and experience of the Board each year, and seeks qualified candidates for nomination to attain a Board that is reflective of the community it serves. We are particularly interested in people with skills or experience in the following areas:
It has been announced that transport trucks are expected to descend on Parliament Hill from the east and west and from Gatineau on Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20, as part of the “United We Roll Convoy for Canada” protest. Wellington Street between Kent Street and Elgin Street will be closed to regular traffic from 8 am until as late as after the afternoon rush hour both days. Downtown commuters are advised to plan ahead for traffic delays.
Tickets are now on sale for one of the Ottawa Chidren's Choir's signature events. For the second year in a row, the Chamber Choir, conducted by Jamie Loback, will present Pergolesi's moving rendition of Stabat Mater. A wine and cheese reception will follow with a cash bar.
