The Ottawa Children’s Choir has vacancies for Board Members for the period 2017-2018

The OCC Board is a working board comprising 6 parent representatives and 7 community representatives. We have openings for parent and community representatives from July 2017 (renewable). Directors on the OCC Board are typically elected for a two-year term.

The Ottawa Children's Choir is pleased to announce that Jennifer Berntson has accepted the position of Conductor for our new Training Choir for 6- and 7-year-old children. Jennifer is a passionate choral artist and music educator. Inspired by a childhood spent singing with the Saskatoon Children’s Choir, she has performed with ensembles across Canada, including the National Youth Choir. Jennifer is the founding artistic director of Aella Choir, an ensemble intent on sharing innovative programming and compelling repertoire for women’s voices. She currently works at First Baptist Church as the soprano soloist and conductor of the First Baptist Children’s Choir. Jennifer enjoys sharing her love of music through her voice and piano studios, working with students of all ages and levels.

Children who love to sing are invited to audition for Ottawa's pre-eminent children's choir.

The Ottawa Children’s Choir is looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors.  The OCC Treasurer manages the financial operations of the Choir and supervises the financial work of the OCC General Manager.  Reporting monthly to the Board on the Choir’s financial status, the Treasurer ensures adherence to applicable laws and regulations of financial concern, ensures the auditor has necessary documents to complete the yearly audit and advises the Board on financial matters.  The Treasurer is also a member of the OCC Executive Committee. Total estimated time commitment (Treasurer duties; Board meetings/preparation; Executive Committee) is approximately 5 to 8 hours/month.
